ARIZONA HIGHWAYS MAGAZINE LAUNCHES NEW WEB
SITE WITH DESIGN FROM TORNADO DESIGN
SCOTTSDALE, AZ August 14, 2003
Few states have a greater single voice of marketing than does Arizona.
No one can ignore the power a simple magazine has on shaping opinion
about the state. For over 75 years the magazine has been "the"
state publication telling the world about the beautiful deserts
and mountains in Arizona.
So it's no surprise that when the opportunity arose
to design the web site for Arizona Highways, we
said yes! Arizona Highways picked a local development firm we have
worked with on many occasions to handle the project, and they turned
to us along with one other Arizona firm to present designs.
Our design was selected as the most appropriate in
March and after being integrated with a Coldfusion backend, launched
at www.arizonahighways.com.
Arizona Highways has a circulation of more than 350,000
copies monthly (with 75% being out of Arizona) and estimated readership
close to 1 million every month. Every month the magazine features
scenic photography and travel stories from some of the best writers
and photographers in Arizona.
SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST (SXSW) INTERACTIVE
FINALIST: THE 35TH INFANTRY DIVISION IN WWII WEB SITE
SCOTTSDALE, AZ March 11, 2003
The web site we produced for the 35th
Infantry Division Association is a finalist in the
2003 SXSW Interactive competition!
When asked for his reaction, Chris Tingom, Principal,
said "we're excited about the opportunity to see our work recognized
among so many other great sites, and we expect the value of our
work to be seen by the fine people at the Smithsonian Institution,
PBS, National Geographic, and some of the other big names in interactive
education. Sites that make knowledge accessible are our favorite
kind to create."
The site, which launched in September 2002, continues
to receive high amounts of traffic, appropriate for its role as
a learning resource for the generations born after WWII as well
as a resource for veterans of WWII to meet and talk.
SIGN OF THE TIMES? CYLEX
SIGNS, A MAKER OF SYNTHETIC ROCK SIGNAGE, ASKS TORNADO TO PRODUCE
A NEW WEB SITE AND BROCHURES
SCOTTSDALE, AZ March 11, 2003
Cylex is the premier source for quality signage for golf courses,
residential and commercial properties, as well as for entrance and
other rock signage. Cylex has been building signage for companies
around the world for over twenty years and is considered the market
leader in golf course signage.
We worked with Cylex to build a comprehensive web
site and also a series of brochures.
The new web site at
www.cylexsigns.com uses photo galleries to
showcase the wide variety of signage that Cylex has created and
helps potential customers evaluate their needs and see what is possible
with Cylex signage.
For each of the three kinds of signage that Cylex
specializes in, we created three brochures to accompany the website.
Each brochure features bold colors and dynamic uses of copy and
images to convey quality and style.
Tornado and Cylex continue to work together on enhancing
the Cylex online presence and other projects.
